Mid-Florida Urological Associates, P.A. choose RAPID for secure biometric time and attendance

Lake Mary, FL (February 21, 2003) - Mid-Florida Urological Associates, P.A. has announced plans to use RAPID (Restricted Area Personnel Identification) as the solution for their biometric access control and time clock needs. In accordance with HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act), the RAPID system will provide identity verification and will secure time and attendance for all employees through the use of biometric fingerprint identification technology. The accurate and secure identification of employees eliminates unauthorized access to secure areas, labor management inefficiency (clock-in time issues), and the need for any type of PIN or password. The system stores desired employee activity and can be used to create reports or analyses as applicable, including the ability to electronically calculate payroll and record attendance.

Unlike most biometric access control and time clock systems, RAPID is able to operate independent of a network or centralized database. While “networked” the system will store records in a centralized database, when the loss of network connection occurs the system continues to operate with the same efficiency and stores all records locally until network connection is reestablished. The ability to operate a networked system without the possibility of ever having “downtime” adds value unavailable through other systems. By increasing security and decreasing payroll costs, the RAPID system is the optimum solution for biometric access control and attendance anywhere.
