Card Validation

The RAPID System Application provides a fast, reliable, and cost-effective security system. The ID card bearing the RAPID 2D Barcode employs the use of tamperproof, passive technology (PDF-417 barcode format) to store the identifying information. The private identity biometric is securely protected using dynamically generated encryption algorithms.

To verify the identification of the cardholder, simply scan the RAPID Barcode that has been printed on the card using a variety of off-the-shelf barcode scanners. The checkpoint station must feature the RAPID Checkpoint Software and fingerprint scanner.

After the RAPID Barcode has been scanned, the data located on the card is immediately downloaded into the access record database, even if there is no connection to any other database containing the data recorded on the RAPID ID card. At this point, the individual presenting the ID presents his/her fingerprint, which is optically read and immediately downloaded into the access record database. At the same time, the RAPID System will instantly analyze the presented fingerprint in comparison with the fingerprint biometric, which was embedded in the RAPID Barcode and is now recorded into the access event database for comparative verification.
